Following a major upgrade to OREC, our proprietary AI engine, we have expanded our automatic classification capabilities from 110 to 250 distinct vessel classes.
The previous catalogue was already the largest set of vessel types automatically identified from SAR imagery. The expanded model reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and to providing partners with the most accurate and operationally reliable maritime recognition capabilities available.
While SAR provides critical visibility through clouds and darkness, interpreting that data is extremely difficult. OREC solves this, moving beyond simple detection to precise classification with industry-leading accuracy.
It’s compatible with data from all major satellite constellations (including Synspective Inc., ICEYE, Capella Space, Umbra, Airbus Defence and Space), processes them in real-time, and now identifies even more specific commercial and military ships where others only see "objects."
Rolling out now to users of OREC and OREC-INTELLIGENCE.
