SATIM has appointed Remigiusz Kinas–one of the most accomplished applied AI practitioners–as AI Advisor to the CTO Office.
The new advisory role will strengthen technical leadership for OREC’s core AI architecture, contributing to computer vision and deep learning algorithms that underpin automated object detection and classification in SAR imagery.
As OREC extends its capabilities across sensors, the architecture decisions we make in the next twelve months determine what the system can do at operational scale. Remigiusz brings the depth – across computer vision, multimodal systems, and competitive applied AI – to pressure-test those decisions and adapt our AI development strategy. We hold ourselves to the highest standards. – Stanisława Porzycka-Strzelczyk, CTO SATIM
Remigiusz is one of Poland’s most accomplished applied AI practitioners. He brings his wide AI expertise – including at the frontier of language model development – to bear on SATIM’s core computer vision systems.
His broader AI expertise extends to large language and multimodal model development. He’s an active contributor to SpeakLeash, the open-source initiative behind Bielik – Poland’s most technically rigorous LLM project – where he leads the multimodal workstream and has contributed across fine-tuning, quantization, and benchmarking. That work reflects the depth of AI research practice he brings to SATIM’s computer vision architecture.
SAR-based object detection is one of the genuinely hard AI problems, influenced by the data distribution, the sensor physics, and the operational constraints. This requires a specific, focused approach. I’m excited to contribute to solving the technical challenges and drive this unique technology further. – Remigiusz Kinas
**Remigiusz Kinas holds the rank of Kaggle Grandmaster. **Kaggle is the world’s largest competitive AI and machine learning community, where practitioners compete on real-world modeling problems across computer vision, MLP, and structured data.
In his advisory role, Kinas will support the CTO Office on AI architecture decisions and model development strategy as OREC extends its coverage across satellite, airborne, UAV, and other SAR sensors.
